Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news with WPDE-TV. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. In Charleston O'Dell's stories about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to states authorities again releasing the strictest guidelines regarding the instances. Ms. O'Dell won her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. Her work in Charleston has led to her serving as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a anchor on the weekdays and was also the weekend anchor for NBC. Alongside her job as the lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and as well to Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes.
